Long Valley Family Displaced In House Fire

The local police department is collecting gift cards for a Long Valley family displaced in a house fire over the weekend.

The parents and their two small boys made it out of the Lenore Court house, but lost nearly everything in the blaze.

The parents and their two small boys made it out of the Lenore Court house, but lost nearly everything in Saturday's 3:30 a.m. blaze, first responders said.

The Washington Township Police Department is collecting gift cards between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

"Washington Township and its residents always come together in times of need," said police, "and we thank you in advance for your assistance to this family."

Responding fire companies were: Chester Fire, Hackettstown Fire, Budd Lake ,Fire, Tri-County Fire, Pottersville Fire, Ralston Fire, Mansfield Fire, Independence Fire, Oldwick Fire, Califon Fire and Allamuchy Fire. All units cleared the scene by 10 a.m.
