Failure To Stay In Lane Leads To DWI Charge For Norwalk Man, New Canaan Police Say

A Norwalk man was arrested in New Canaan and charged with DUI after a routine traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

According to a New Canaan Police report, on May 22 at 3:51 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Park Street allegedly fail to stay in the established travel lane.

Police said the driver, Eugene Brennan, 51, was allegedly observed not wearing a seatbelt.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted and upon speaking to Brennan, the officer reportedly detected impairment, said New Canaan Police.

Standard Field Sobriety Tests were reportedly administered to Brennan which he allegedly failed, according to police.

He was taken into custody to police headquarters for processing where he allegedly submitted to a Blood Alcohol Concentration—BAC and reportedly registered .21 BAC, said police.

New Canaan Police said Brenna was released on a $250 bond and is due in court June. 5.
