Body Found In Naugatuck River

Police have pulled a body from the Naugatuck River in Connecticut.

The discovery was made around 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, when a hiker reported what looked like a human body in the water, said the Naugatuck Police.

Emergency personnel located the body in New Haven County in the area of Platts Mill Road and Radnor Avenue and confirmed the person was dead.

Naugatuck detectives are working the scene with assistance from the state police Central District Major Crime investigators to find out who the person is.

Additional support was provided by the Beacon Falls Fire Department Water Rescue team.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
