The café, which is hidden off Route 6 but not hidden from customers (tucked behind Salon Uccelli and the Putnam Music center), was recently approved and licensed to serve alcoholic beverages to patrons 21 and over.

“I’m one of the luckiest people in the world,” says Massaro. “How many of us get to wake up every day and go do what they are completely passionate about? I’m one of those people and I’m so grateful to my customers and the community for their support and patronage over the past five years. I’m looking forward to the next five and more.”

For those 21 and older, every Saturday night, the Freighthouse plays host to local musicians across many genres. There’s no cover charge and doors open at 7 p.m., with a light menu and full bar. Visit www.Thefreighthousecafe.com for more information.
