WESTPORT, Conn. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Westport last week:
- Brandi Briggs, a candidate for state representative for the 136th District in Westport, has received the endorsement of the Independent Party of Connecticut and will appear on the ballot in the November election on both the Republican and Independent party lines.
- A Westport woman, Dawn Christopherson, 55, was injured in the crash of a vintage Corvette on I-95 north at the Stratford-Bridgeport line and remained in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital.
- Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce hosts third annual Slice of Saugatuck Festival.
- Hundreds of people, led by family and friends, gathered at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport to pay tribute to the men and women of Connecticut who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
