Ivan De Jesus Morales Mencia, 39, of Hartford, was identified as the man who disappeared while boating on Saturday, June 15, after getting into the water and disappearing from view, said officials with the state Office of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Friends on the boat with Mencia made attempts to rescue him as did East Hartford police and fire officials, as well as DEEP dive teams and police.  The search for the missing man was later suspended due to fast-moving water and debris, which made the search difficult, said DEEP officials.

Friends of the man spotted his body in the river in Glastonbury on Wednesday morning and alerted authorities.

No criminal charges are anticipated related to the incident.
