Alert Issued For Repair Work On Cos Cob Railroad

The Greenwich Police Department has issued a public safety announcement regarding the repair work on the Cos Cob Railroad Bridge.

The repair work, which includes the replacement of timber ties and miter rail as well as steel repairs on Track 3, is expected to affect marine traffic in Cos Cob Harbor. Due to the ongoing repairs, CTDOT has requested a temporary deviation to the operation of the structure.

The repairs necessitate an uninterrupted Marine outage from Tuesday, April 9 through Monday, June 17 with the exception of Memorial Day weekend.

The outages will be initiated as follows:

  • Five days of continuous outage (Monday at 8 a.m. to Friday at 4 p.m.)
  • Two days with 24-hours of advance notice (Friday at 4 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m.)

As mentioned, operations will return to normal for Memorial Day weekend starting at 4 p.m. Friday, May 24. Complete closure will resume Tuesday, May 28 at 8 a.m.
