WESTPORT, Conn. Westport clothing store J. McLaughlin will host a Sip and Shop party Friday, Feb. 10, from 5-8 p.m. to benefit SpinOdyssey, the volunteer organization that helps fund American Cancer Society breast cancer research.
J. McLaughlins second annual Sip and Shop event is a great way for Westporters and our neighbors to come together in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoy light refreshments, and make a purchase or two for an outstanding cause, namely, funding research that will help put an end to breast cancer, SpinOdyssey co-chair and Westport resident Patty Kondub said.
SpinOdyssey 2012, the only indoor cycling fundraiser where participants can ride, Zumba, pump, and/or play tennis in support of American Cancer Society breast cancer research and Norwalk Hospitals Whittingham Cancer Center, takes place on Sunday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Intensity in Norwalk. Individuals and teams pre-register to participate anywhere from one to six hours in one of the many SpinOdyssey fitness sessions, raising sponsorship dollars from friends, family and co-workers.
Now in its 13th year, SpinOdyssey has raised close to $3 million for breast cancer research and breast cancer patient and family support services. In 2011 alone, the event raised more than $400,000 for the cause.
