WESTPORT, Conn. -- The children’s department at the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road, is offering a series of free weaving projects for children from Saturday, Dec. 26, to Monday, Jan. 4.
Children of all ages are invited to drop by anytime during school vacation and weave on a giant loom.
Materials are provided, but participants can also bring items such as yarn, ribbon scraps and crepe paper to add to their projects.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29 and 30, the library will be hosting a special hula hoop weaving workshop from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Children in grades 6 to 9 are invited to make a rag rug or wall-hanging with old T-shirts.
Children who participate can bring in their own t-shirts to use in the project, or choose from a selection provided by the library.
To register for the hula hoop weaving workshop, call 203-291-4800, or contact Lynne Perrigo at lperrigo@westportlibrary.org.
