WESTPORT, Conn. -- New York Times reporter Stephanie Clifford will talk about her debut novel, "Everybody Rise," on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Westport Library’s McManus Room.
Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event, which is free-of-charge and open to the public.
In Clifford's novel, which takes place in 2006, 26-year-old Evelyn Beegan has a new job at a social network aimed at the elite. Recruiting members for the site, Evelyn steps into the world of Adirondack camps, Newport cottages and Southampton clubs -- but her desire to belong may be her downfall, as she struggles to conceal a family scandal.
Clifford is a Loeb-award winning reporter at the Times, where she has covered business and media. She is currently a metro reporter, covering federal and state courts in Brooklyn, N.Y.
