WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport Beautification Committee and the Westport Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a Clean-Up Westport Day event Saturday.
Free trash bags will be available between 9 and 11 a.m. at Jesup Green.
Volunteers will be cleaning up that area Saturday, which is also part of a Green Day celebration.
“A letter has been sent to 60 civic organizations and community groups asking for help and cooperation organizing the cleanup and in choosing adopted cleanup spots,” Stuart McCarthy, director of the Parks and Recreation Department, said in a press release.
“The Clean-up Westport Day committees are asking every Westport citizen to take time to clean up litter along their street or any public space. At the conclusion, the town will collect the bagged garbage and debris from the adopted spots.”
Any individuals or groups interested in volunteering should call the Westport Parks and Recreation Department, before Saturday, at 203-341-5091.
