What did you think about Apple's announcements?

  • Sounds great!
  • I'm underwhelmed.
  • Indifference.
  • I can't believe they took 90 minutes to get to the iPhone.

The iPad Pro, featuring a larger screen, was one of the biggest early announcement by Apple executives at the exclusive event, which went more than an hour before broaching innovations to the iPhone, their most popular product. The iPad Pro, starting at $800, includes a massive 12.9-inch display and makes use of the recently introduced split screen applications of the latest operating system.

Among the announcements made during a press conference that last two hours Wednesday was a “revamped” Apple TV that includes voice commands with Siri, games and new applications, as well as a new remote with a familiar glass touch surface.

New toys for Apple enthusiasts include a smart keyboard that is “covered in a fabric that forms the structure of the keyboard.” The Apple Pencil will also serve as a stylus for tablets, complete with sensitivity sensors that will allow users to press softly for brief strokes or harder for wider strokes.

Third-party applications were prominent at the Apple event, with demonstrations from Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and several prominent tech companies introducing their products to a capacity crowd.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that “the biggest news in iPad since the iPad,” at the event, which kicked off at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

As for the iPhone, Apple said its chip is 70 percent faster than the last one.

“While they may look familiar, we have changed everything about these new iPhones,” Cook added, calling them the most advanced ever.
