The open house runs from 5-8 p.m. at the Patio Room at Norwalk Hospital. Healthcare workers can learn about the opportunities for experienced nurses at the rapidly growing healthcare network.

"Our staff of dedicated nurses is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care,'' said Renee Mauriello, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Vice President, Patient Care Services at Norwalk Hospital. "Nurses working in each sub specialty are experienced and high trained practitioners, who carry out their responsibilities according to the mission of Department of Nursing: 'To provide compassionate, high quality nursing care by utilizing patient centered care and a team approach through Shared Governance to foster a community of nursing.' The contributions of nurses are integral to the comprehensive patient care offered at Norwalk Hospital. "

The event is open to registered nurses with at least one year of current acute care experience. Candidates should bring resumes to win raffle prizes. Nurses can also meet with the hospital leadership team, learn more about the nursing department, education programs, clinical ladder opportunities and the network’s Shared Governance model.

"As an organization, we are strongly committed to advancing both the art and the science of nursing and the workplace well being of our staff,'' Mauriello said. "Moving forward in our ongoing pursuit of nursing excellence, we strive to be adoptable to the ever changing forces that shape the landscaping of healthcare. Change can be challenging, but the change process also provides us with opportunities for the success that make the nursing staff at Norwalk Hospital be the best that we can be."

Nurses are being hired in critical care, emergency department, labor and delivery, maternity, medical/surgical, operating room, intensive care, post anesthesia care unit, rapid response and telemetry.
