The Kmart store at 2280 North Ocean Ave in the Expressway Plaza in Farmingville will close for "economic" reasons, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing submitted to the New York State Department of Labor.

The store closing will affect 91employees. The employee separations will occur Nov. 13 or during a 14-day period starting on that date, said the notice.

A Transform statement about store closings dated Aug. 6 said 26 large-format Sears and Kmart store would be closing in late October with a list of stores that were closing around the country. The Farmingville and Bohemia stores are not on that list.
