FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A new round of winter weather is expected to hit Fairfield County on Tuesday night, but it won't be as nasty as last weekend's snow.

The wintry weather could affect the evening commute, depending on when it arrives.

Increasing clouds Tuesday afternoon will lead to rain, snow and sleet in the evening before changing to all rain after 2 a.m. Temperatures are expected to rise and wind gusts could exceed 30 mph. There is little or no snow and sleet accumulation predicted, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain will continue Wednesday morning with gradual clearing. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid 40s. Blustery winds with gusts as  28 mph are also forecast.

More rain is forecast after 10 p.m. Wednesday night, but temperatures will climb into the 50s on Thursday. Friday will be mostly cloudy. A 40 percent chance of snow is forecast for Saturday.
