TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Lace up those running shoes and get to Twin Brooks Park on Friday to help the Trumbull Rotary Club raise money for local charities at the 16th annual Sunset Run.

Each year, this family-friendly event attracts hundreds of runners. Participants arrive early and stick around to enjoy camaraderie, music, food and refreshments on a summer evening.

Participants can run in honor of their personal hero, whether that’s mom, a close friend, a cancer survivor or someone in the military. Last year, several runners dressed up as Batman, Superman and other super heroes.

Online registration is available at www.TrumbullRotary.org (select “Events”). Race-day registration begins at Twin Brooks Park at 5:15 p.m. The Kids Fun Run starts at 6:15 p.m.

The chip-timed 5K race starts at 6:45 p.m. As a special thanks to all who served our country, veterans and active-duty military run free.

This year, the Trumbull Rotary Club is celebrating 50 years of service. Proceeds from the annual 5K Sunset Run go back into the community, supporting projects in the community and throughout the world.
