REDDING, Conn. — The polls are open at the Redding Community Center from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 3, to vote on three items relating to the town's budgets.

Voters will decide on the Town's Annual Operating Budget, the Region 9 Budget for Joel Barlow High School, and a capital expenditure request for HVAC at John Read Middle School and Redding Elementary School.

The first item on the ballot is for the town's proposed $47.6 million budget, which includes $21 million for the town's two schools as well as Redding's share of the Region 9 school budget for Joel Barlow High School.

The second item on the ballot is for the entire $23.3 million Region 9 school budget, with the cost split between Redding and Easton based on school population. Redding's share comes to nearly $12.292 million, and Easton's is $10.988 million.

The third item on the ballot is for the capital expenditures of $5.45 million to pay for the heating, ventilation and cooling work at Redding Elementary and John Read Middle School. The work would be done this summer.
