EASTON, Conn. — In Easton's only State Senate race for District 28, Republican incumbent Tony Hwang defeated Democratic challenger Philip Dwyer, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
In the race for Easton's only seat in the State House of Representatives, Republican Adam Dunbsy beat Green Party candidate Bonnie Troy for the District 135. They were competing for a seat held by John Shaban, who ran for Congress. Dunsby is the First Selectman of Easton, a position he intends to keep.
For Registrar of Voters, Democrat David Smith and Republican Vincent Caprio were re-elected.
For the U.S. House, Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat, defeated Shaban, a Republican from Redding.
For the U.S. Senate, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, won re-election by topping Republican challenger Dan Carter of Bethel. Carter did not seek re-election to the State House due to his Senate run.
