A 14-year-old Monroe girl and 13-year-old Newtown girl were at the mall on Saturday afternoon when 24-year-old Darren Thompson of Bridgeport approached them, according to the Connecticut Post. He offered to sell them jewelry, and when they told him they didn't have money, he said they could have it if they did 10 reps on an abdominal machine, the Connecticut Post reported.

Police told the Connecticut Post that he stuck his finger in the 14-year-old's belly button and indicated that the abdominal machine could help her with her weight. He also offered the girls marijuana, and made a grinding motion that they indicated to mean they could have sex, according to the Connecticut Post.

The girls reported the incident to mall security, and Thomspon said that he thought they were 18, according to the Connecticut Post. He was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
