Stratford Woman Seriously Injured In I-95 3-Vehicle Crash, Police Say

A Fairfield County woman was seriously injured during a three-vehicle crash on I-95 that closed part of the highway for several hours.

The crash took place in New Haven County around 2:15 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, in the southbound lanes of the highway near Exit 61 in Madison, said the Connecticut State Police.

Anna Scala, age 77, of Stratford, was driving a 2015 Buick Verano when she was involved in a crash with a 2017 Ram pickup truck, and a 2021 Nissan Altima, state police said.

Troopers did not offer a detailed description of the crash except to say all vehicles were disabled. 

Scala was transported by EMS ground to Yale New Haven Hospital for suspected serious injuries, state police said.

The driver of the Nissan, Larry Banks, age 43, of New Haven, was transported with "suspected" minor injuries, police added.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

The case remains under investigation.
