Know Them? Thieves Swipe Numerous Wallets At Avon Theater

Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly stole multiple wallets out of purses at the Avon Theatre in Stamford while posing as moviegoers.

The thefts took place during the 7:30 p.m. showing of "Judy" on Saturday, Oct. 19, said Sgt. Sean Scanlan.

The suspects, described as two teenage black males and one teenage black female, took wallets from numerous purses, Scanlan said.

As of Wednesday, Oct. 23, four victims have come forward and 2 more were victimized as well, Scanlan said.

In all of the reported cases, the teens took cash and credit cards out of the wallets and used them or tried to use the cards at Target, he said.

The photos were taken while the teens were purchasing gift cards at Target with the stolen cards or cash.
