EASTON, Conn. — It's been a busy year for Tim Shaw, who just marked his first anniversary as chief of the Easton Police Department, according to the Easton Courier.

He had been on the job only about two weeks when residents Jeanette and Jeffrey Navin were reported missing. After both were found slain in neighboring Weston over two months later, their son Kyle and his girlfriend Jennifer Valiante were charged in connection with their murders.

Shaw praised the work of the department in that case and the support of the town he has received, the Courier said.

In his first year, the police department has added a detective and continued to fight the growing threat of opiate addiction, the Courier said.
