Leticia Rosa, 33, and John Grace, 31, were arrested around 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, and charged with risk of injury, criminal trespass, breach of peace, interfering with an officer. Grace was also charged with violating an order of protection, said the Milford Police.

The arrests came after the Milford Police were dispatched to a Rowe Avenue motel to assist the Department of Children and Families with a welfare check, police said.

When they arrived on the scene, they found Grace, who had a full no=contact order against him, with Rosa inside the motel room along with an infant child.

When officers attempted to enter the room to check on the welfare of the child, Rosa refused to let officers or DCF employees inside and began yelling and screaming at them for a "lengthy" amount of time, police said.

When other motel guests began complaining about the yelling and screaming, police were able to get inside the room and found Grace hiding in the bathroom.

DCF took custody of the child. Police did not say if the infant was injured.

Rosa is being held on $10,000 bond. Grace is being held on $25,000 bond.
