Easton Voters Approve $1.2 Million For Health Insurance Claims

EASTON, Conn. -- More than Easton 120 residents attended a special town meeting earlier this week and voted to approve a special appropriation of $1.2 million to cover a shortfall in the Easton Board of Education health insurance claims, according to the Easton Courier.

The funds to cover the shortfall will come from the town's $5,537,000 undesignated fund balance for fiscal year 2015-16, said the Easton Courier.

During the meeting, residents also agreed to upgrade or change the scope of work for the Wells Hill Bridge and South Park Avenue Bridges, with a grant covering the $1.4 million in construction costs and the town covering the design cost, added the Easton Courier.
