Last year, Bridgeport residents Antoine Snell and Treyquane Snell, both 21, pleaded guilty to a federal robbery offense stemming from a violent robbery and carjacking of the delivery driver in Ansonia, U.S. Attorney John Durham announced.

Both Snell brothers pleaded guilty to one count of Hobbs robbery. Antoine Snell was sentenced to 64 months in prison, while Trequane Snell received 72 months for their roles in the robbery and carjacking.

On Dec. 21, 2016, the twin brothers and a third juvenile placed a food order with an Ansonia restaurant that was to be delivered on Dwight Street.

When the driver arrived at the location, the three ordered him out of his car, attacked him and stole the car. The driver suffered injuries that included multiple broken bones in his face and bleeding in his brain.

A third juvenile implicated in the robbery has already been charged, convicted and sentenced in state court. In addition to their prison term, the Snell brothers will also serve three years of supervised release when they get out of prison.
