REDDING, Conn. -- Blue skies hovered over a crowded lawn at the Redding Historical Society's Lonetown Farm on Saturday to celebrate Independence Day.

The Second Annual Redding Rock ’N Roots Revival Music Festival included a road race, pie contest and music all afternoon. Fireworks added the the festivities at dusk.

The festival celebrates the Fourth of July, and also the town's past and its "roots."
