Due to its fast-forward movement, widespread flooding is not expected, however.

The heaviest rainfall from the storm swept across New York City, Long Island, and Connecticut around daybreak on Friday, July 9, and the worst of the storm is expected to be over around mid-morning in those areas, and around midday and in the early afternoon in Massachusetts.

Between 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected.

The storm is packed with maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour with gusts as high as 60 mph in coastal areas of eastern Long Island, southeastern Massachusetts, and as far north as Maine, according to AccuWeather.
