STRATFORD, CONN. -- Two new faces are joining the Stratford Town Council as Democrats Scott Farrington-Posner and Greg Cann both pulled out victories in Thursday's special election to fill seats left vacant by resignations, according to the Stratford Star.
Farrington-Posner edged out Republican Ron Tichy and petitioning candidate George E. Mulligan for the District 2 seat, according to the Stratford Star. He replaces Mark Dumas, who stepped down in June, the Stratford Star said.
In District 5, Cann won against petitioning candidate John Dempsey to succeed Joe Gresko, who left in May to focus on his state representative seat in the 121st District, the Stratford Star said. The mayor and all 10 council seats are up for re-election next year.
