STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Stratford woman was arrested on drunken driving charges in connection with a crash in August where police said she hit a SUV driven by a police detective, sending both of them to the hospital, according to the Connecticut Post.
At around 1 a.m. on Aug. 1, 21-year-old Caroline Dillon was driving on Stratford Avenue near Main Street when she hit the SUV driven by the detective, causing it to roll over onto its roof, the Connecticut Post reported. The detective was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for broken ribs and other injuries, according to the Connecticut Post.
Dillon was also taken to the hospital for treatment of burns on her legs, according to the Connecticut Post. While at the hospital, she was also found to have a BAC of .18, according to the Connecticut Post. She was also found to have sent a series of text messages right before the crash, the Connecticut Post reported.
A warrant was issued for Dillon's arrest, and she was charged Monday with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, operating under the influence and reckless driving, and released on a $50,000 bond, according to the Connecticut Post.
