STRATFORD, Conn. — Horse on the highway is an unusual report in suburban Connecticut. But just after 1 a.m. Thursday, Connecticut State Troopers in Bethany responded to Exit 21 of southbound I-91 for a report of a horse walking on the highway, according to a Facebook post.
"This little guy kicked open the door of his trailer and took a tumble," State Police said in the Facebook post. The horse was found near Cromwell. But the trailer was no where to be found.
The vehicle with the trailer continued on its way until it was located about 45 miles away in Stratford.
"His family was found on I-95 in Stratford by Troop G-Bridgeport troopers," State Police said. "The horse has a few cuts and scrapes, but is OK and happy to be safely back in his trailer."
