STRATFORD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man who arrived at unannounced at co-worker's home in Stratford late Monday broke in through a bedroom window, hit the co-worker and stabbed her boyfriend before fleeing on a bicycle, Stratford police said.

The home invasion occurred at a residence on Hollister Street, police said.

Juan Santiago, 22, of Bridgeport, went to the co-worker's home for an unknown reason, police said.

Santiago was not invited into the home, police said. He eventually climbed through a bedroom window of the residence, where the female homeowner and her boyfriend confronted him, police said.

Santiago, who was armed with a knife, cut and eventually stabbed the male victim, police said.

He also hit the female resident, who is his co-worker, before fleeing the area on a bicycle, police said.

Santiago was located and arrested by Stratford Officers on Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport, police said.

The knife used in the assault was found along the side of the road on Hollister Street, where Santiago had discarded it as he fled, police said.

The male victim was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds to his torso and hand at Bridgeport Hospital, police said.

Santiago was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree assault, disorderly conduct and home invasion.

He was held on $500,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 9.
