Kenneth Tobin, 53, of Monroe, was killed around 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, when he lost control of his Chevy Suburban, crossed the center lane, struck a bridge abutment and rolled the vehicle, which landed on its roof on the north shoulder of the road, said Monroe Police Lt. Steve Corrone.

Tobin was rushed to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Corrone said.

The crash closed the busy highway for more than five hours as police investigated the crash.

Corrone said the reason for the crash is still under investigation.
