STRATFORD, Conn. -- A Stratford woman remains in intensive care after a hit-and-run accident  -- and her boss has set up a GoFundMe campaign, to try to help with her medical costs.

Amanda Keane was struck by a passing car on Sunday, August 28, as she was getting into her own car, as she left work, at Milford Bridge House. A witness told the Milford Police Department that the car fled afterward.

Frank Basile, owner of Milford Bridge House, set up a GoFundMe page on Monday. He said that the extent of her injuries are still unknown. The police characterized her injuries as potentially life-threatening.

"Amanda has been a very hard-working, loving person that always puts others in front of herself," Basile stated on the site. "Always helping others, in the work place or at home, she is admired by all."

You can donate to Keane and her family through the GoFundMe page, here, or share the campaign on Facebook or Twitter. As of Tuesday evening, it had raised $4,270 from 71 people in the single day it's been up.

"Please help assist us in supporting Amanda and her family in the time of need," Basile said.

This incident is still under investigation. The police said that vehicle which allegedly hit Keane -- a dark-colored sedan -- would have damage to its right front headlight, bumper and right fender, and it would be missing its passenger-side mirror.

The Police Department asks that anyone with information call the Traffic Division at 203-878-5244. Refer to case number 4833-16.
