According to Fairfield Police, a man called the department on Monday, July 15, to report that his vehicle had been stolen from the Metro Center parking lot, said Fairfield Police Capt. Robert Kalamaras.

The man said that he parked his vehicle around 7:30 p.m., near the entrance in section F.  When he returned he could not find his vehicle. Officers arrived on the scene and could not find the vehicle either, Kalamaras said.

The man told officers that there were no keys in the vehicle and the doors had been locked.

About 20 minutes later, the dispatch center began receiving numerous 911 calls reporting that the "missing" vehicle was traveling south on Brewster Street in Bridgeport and was striking other vehicles, Kalamaras said.

Fairfield and Bridgeport patrols responded to the area and located the vehicle at the end of Water Street. A witness reported to Bridgeport Police they saw four juveniles running along an adjacent street. The operator was described as a “very young black male," Kalamaras said.

Bridgeport Police located and detained the four juveniles on Harbor Avenue near Prescott Street.  Bridgeport Police conducted a show-up of the juveniles with the witness who was unable to positively identify any of the juveniles as either a driver or occupant, he added.

The juveniles were turned over to parents/guardians
