Based on Yelp reviews, Ferris Acres Creamery, located at a popular family farm in Newtown, has Connecticut's best ice cream, the report says.

The article reports that the crowd-sourcing platform looked at ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato businesses in each state in the country and drew its rankings using an algorithm to determine ones with the most reviews and highest star ratings.

Enjoying your treat is special because customers get a glimpse of a working farm run by three generations of the Ferris family.

You can enjoy a view that includes farm animals, pastures and fields, and pragmatic farm machinery operation while tasting made-on-the-farm frozen desserts.

Almost 70 ice cream flavors and some sorbets are made at Ferris Acres Creamery.

"Regulars" include Ali-Oop, chocolate ice creams with fudge swirls and brownie pieces, Bada Baing, chocolate almond ice cream with dark chocolate chunks and Bing cherries, Bad Habit, rich dark chocolate ice cream, and Black Raspberry, a sweet, creamy, black raspberry ice cream. 

"Special Flavors" which change daily include Bad Attitude of dark chocolate with salted caramel swirls and Ball Park of vanilla ice cream with peanut butter swirls and peanut butter pretzel balls.

There are also seasonal flavors like Caramel Apple Pie and Eggnog, milkshakes, ice cream cookies, and sundaes.
