Jeremiah Vizzo, 43, of Stamford, turned himself in to police on Monday, April 7, and was being held on a court-set $75,000 bond, authorities said.

Police accused Vizzo of crashing his Lexus SUV into a 57-year-old Stamford resident in the 400 block of West Main Street around 7 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16. He allegedly drove off, leaving the victim seriously injured on the road.

Paramedics took the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries. They were later admitted to the intensive care unit, Stamford Police said.

Investigators believe Vizzo purposefully crashed into the victim. However, police did not release a motive.

Vizzo is charged with first-degree assault, reckless operation, and felony evading responsibility, Stamford police said.
