STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford High's Drama Club impressed at the 80th annual Connecticut Drama Association Festival, a statewide competition held at Pomperaug High School, in Southbury, March 18-19.
SHS competed against nine other high schools from across the state. The Strawberry Hill Players won the following awards for their presentation of "The Real Inspector Hound," directed by alumni Matt Blank:
- Outstanding Production – first place in state (awarded by the Adjudicators)
- People's Choice Award (voted on by all participants)
- Outstanding Characterization
- SHS students Erin Maher and Lily Fine also won two of the four Outstanding Actor Awards.
- Twelve students from across the state are awarded All Connecticut Cast for their acting, and three SHS students received this honor -- John Bolognino, Cara Grasso and Chase Rodan.
Thirty students from SHS and AITE made up the winning team, working on loading the set in and out, stage managing, costumes, lights, sound, and hair and makeup.
