STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 70-year-old Stamford woman is in critical condition following a three-car crash on High Ridge Road this morning, according to the Stamford Advocate.

According to the story, the woman crashed into a house following a chain reaction that began at 7:35 a.m. A southbound driver on High Ridge Road stopped in the left lane to allow a northbound car to make a left-hand turn onto Brant Road, the story said.

Although the second car was able to come to a halt, David Shaulson, 54, was unable to stop as he tried to drive around the cars while heading south, the story said. As a result, police said he sideswiped the second car and struck a Mercedes Benz operated by the woman, who was heading north, the story said. Her car crashed into the front yard at 794 High Ridge Road, the story said.
