A woman has been charged with disorderly conduct after police say she spit in a victim’s face in front of children.
Darien Police say officers responded to a home on Hoyt Street on a report of an argument on Thursday, Aug. 8.
The victim stated that on Tuesday, Aug. 6, they were involved in a dispute with the suspect, Megan Mass, 40, of Darien, police say.
The victim further stated that during the arranged exchange of their common children, Mass became upset and called the victim an expletive, according to police.
Mass then spit a “large amount” onto the victim’s face in front of two children, police say.
A third party on the scene who did not witness the incident told police that they heard Mass stating, “I shouldn’t have spit on your face.” Mass also allegedly refused to speak with officers or allow the children to speak with officers regarding the incident.
Police were granted a warrant for Mass’s arrest. She turned herself in on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and was charged with disorderly conduct.
Mass was released on a written promise to appear and was scheduled to appear in court later that day.
