STAMFORD, Conn. -- Students at Newfield Elementary had to spend the day indoors after school officials saw an "unhealthy"' coyote near the school, according to the Stamford Advocate.
School officials notified parents that the animal was seen roaming near the school, but it could not be located by animal control officers, said the Stamford Advocate.
Animal control officials said the animal could be suffering from mange, and they had received an earlier report about 10 a.m. Wednesday on Pepper Ridge Place, added the Advocate.
