Two juveniles charged in connection with the May 31 murder of a high school football player who was gunned down on his way to play basketball, will be tried as adults.

Sirus Dixon, 15, charged with murder and Karl Davis, 17,  charged with accessory to murder, had their cases moved to adult court Wednesday afternoon, said Stamford Police Lt. Tom Barcello.

The third person charged in the murder of Antonio Robinson, 18, a former co-caption of the Stamford High School football team, Jimmy Jean-Baptiste, 18, of Stamford, was already charged in adult court for accessory to murder, Barcello said.

All are being held on $500,000 and will appear in court again on Sept. 25, he added.

Robinson was shot in the back while walking underneath the West Avenue Bridge with a friend on the way to the Chester Addison Community Center to play basketball when they happened to run into the other teens under the bridge, said Barcello.

According to Barcello, the teens all knew each other but lived in different areas. The group had "words" and the meeting ended with Robinson running for his life before collapsing after being shot.

Immediately after the shooting, an off-duty Stamford police officer working in the area identified the three teens and police locked down the area searching for them with a K-9 dog and officer. All three were caught and charged with trespassing as detectives worked for more than three months to nail down enough information for arrest warrants and for forensics to come back, Barcello said.

Waiting was hard on the family, Barcello said.

"They were patient and let us work," he said. "I heard they were celebrating last night."
