Suspect On Loose After Armed Robbery At Southport Liquor Store

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Southport liquor store at gunpoint.

The incident took place around 8:49 p.m., Friday, April 26, when a black male wearing a black ski mask, baggy jacket, and blue jeans entered Pequot Liquor at 3430 Post Road and brandished a silver handgun, said Fairfield Police Lt. John Bucherati.

The clerk at the store gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash from the register, Bucherati added.

The man fled the store and was last seen walking east on Kings Highway. 

A K-9 Unit responded to the scene. A track was initiated but was unsuccessful in locating the suspect, Bucherati said.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau.
