STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford police are investigating a possible hate crime following a report that a man punched a woman in the face early Saturday after learning she and her friends were not "into" men, the Stamford Advocate reports.
The group of women were walking along Spring Street when they were approached by a man making advances to them. After the women told him they lived an alternative lifestyle, he punched one of the women, and she hit her head on the ground, the Stamford Advocate says.
She was treated at Stamford Hospital. Her friends tried to chase the man but didn't catch up with him, the Stamford Advocate reports.
