Jeremy Middleton, 18, of 28 Perry St., is charged with second-degree arson, conspiracy to commit second-degree arson and third-degree larceny. He appeared in court Tuesday and was held in custody on a $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on March 2.

Lt. Tom Barcello said that Middletown was seen on a video at a gas station on Jan. 14 that also captured his co-accused Tyriek Gantt pouring gasoline into the back seat of a stolen red Subaru Forrester. The car was soon after found burning a short distance away at 401 Oakwood Place.

Gantt, 19, of 143 Connecticut Ave., was arrested three weeks ago on charges of arson, second-degree conspiracy to commit arson and second-degree larceny in the case. Gantt is also facing numerous other charges in Norwalk and Bridgeport, including robbery.

Officers discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from a pizza delivery driver in Bridgeport on Jan. 8. The delivery driver told police the suspects also stole his money, cellphone and pizza.

That vehicle is also suspected to have been used in the Jan. 14 armed robbery of a Chinese delivery driver in Norwalk who was shot twice and robbed of his 2011 black Toyota Camry, police said. Soon after that robbery, both vehicles were recorded at a gas station at Exit 6 off I-95 in Stamford, police said at the time of Gantt's arrest.

On the surveillance video, Gantt is allegedly seen pumping gas into the Forrester's passenger compartment at about 8 p.m., police said.

Middleton was already in custody on other serious charges stemming from his arrest on Jan. 27 where he and co-accused Jaiden Parker, 19. were allegedly on their way to rob a drug dealer. He was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a pistol without a permit and interfering with an officer.

Parker was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He is also facing robbery charges by Norwalk Police in the robbery of a food delivery man in January.
