The remains, which were discovered in Putnam County behind the Putnam Diner on Route 22, in Patterson could be those of Lealcria DeLima, 53, of Danbury.

DeLima was last seen on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, leaving home in a 2016 red Honda after telling her two children that she loved them and was going to a local Walmart to pick up a prescription, said Danbury Police at the time.

Her car was found by New York State Police in November 2017 behind the diner.

Since her disappearance, Danbury Police have interviewed dozens of people, chased down numerous leads, and flown a helicopter over the surrounding wooded areas in search of the missing woman.

The car was processed by crime scene technicians, but nothing indicating foul play was found, Danbury Police said at the time.

Danbury Police have been notified and were working with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on the case.

Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at 845-225-4300 or Danbury Police at 203-797-4611.
