Norwalk Man Busted With Cocaine Following Stamford Tip

A Norwalk man was busted for drugs sales after Stamford Police received intel that he was allegedly coming to the area to make a drop.

Caron Winston, 37, was arrested on Tuesday, May 21, after Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received information that he would allegedly be traveling to Stamford to make a drop of cocaine, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.

Narc agents set-up surveillance on the location and when Winston arrived in a gray Nissan Altima, officers moved in, he said.

When approached by officers, Winston held up his hands and told officers what they were looking for was in the front driver's side door pocket.

When searched, agents found 12 Ziploc bags of cocaine containing a total of 45.7 grams, he added.

Winston was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent. 

He was released after post $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 4.
