Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash At Busy Long Island Intersection

A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash at a busy Long Island intersection.

It happened on Saturday, May 30 at 5:20 a.m. in Selden.

Furman Pearsall, 78, of Selden, was driving a 2015 Mercedes westbound on Middle Country Road when his vehicle collided with a 1992 Mazda that was traveling southbound on Boyle Road, Suffolk County Police said.

Ronald Caputo, 85, of Selden, the driver of the Mazda, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Pearsall was also transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
