The man who was killed after his car crashed into the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport on Thanksgiving Day has been identified as a Stamford man.
The man was driving south on Main Street at approximately 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 before losing control of his vehicle, a Honda Accord, and colliding into the front of the building. Investigators say he was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Wagner Mendez of Stamford, according to WTNH.
Mendez, the only occupant of the car, was pulled from the vehicle and taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
