A Greenwich driver is facing driving under the influence charges after being pulled over in New Canaan for speeding, police said.

A police officer on patrol reportedly saw a car traveling at 50 miles per hour heading northbound on Old Stamford Road in a posted 30 mile-per-hour zone, according to New Canaan Police.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle on Old Stamford Road at Park Street but the driver allegedly failed to obey the signal of the officer and did not come to a final stop until Oak Street, police said. The driver also did not use a signal when turning onto Oak Street from South Avenue, according to police.

The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop and when talking with Joseph Y. Chung, 35, reportedly detected signs of impairment, said police.

Standard field sobriety tests were given which Chung allegedly failed, according to New Canaan Police.

He was arrested and taken to headquarters and processed. Chung reportedly submitted to a blood alcohol content test and registered a .14 BAC, said police.

He posted a $250 bond and was released with a court date of Thursday, July 25.
