Update 5:45 p.m.: NORWALK, Conn. -- The man killed in the crash on Route 7 in Norwalk was identified as Fernando Damasco-Bautista, 43, of East Hartford, police said. The accident remained under investigation late Friday.
Original story: NORWALK, Conn. – A 43-year-old man was killed when his minivan collided with a tractor-trailer truck early Friday at the end of the Route 7 connector in Norwalk, police said.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Route 7 and Grist Mill Road at about 3:25 a.m. Friday, police said. The minivan was heading north on Route 7 when it struck the truck, which was heading west on Grist Mill to the Route 7 on-ramp, according to police reports.
The driver of the minivan, a 43-year-old man, was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Police have not released the man’s name pending notification of his family.
The Norwalk Police Accident Investigation Unit was still looking into the cause of the crash as of late Friday morning.
